Julien Malizard<\/strong><\/a>, a researcher at the Chair of Defence Economics, spoke at the AEGES conference on Wednesday 5 December at the AEGES annual conference <\/strong>(Association for the Study of War and Strategy) which was held on 5 and 6 December 2018<\/strong>, on the grounds of the\u2019Catholic University of Lille<\/strong><\/a>. The theme of this year's conference was: \u00ab\u00a0Winning the war or winning the peace?<\/a>\u00ab\u00a0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Julien Malizard took part in the panel \u00ab\u00a0<\/strong>Seeking funding to support strategic research<\/strong><\/em>\u00ab\u00a0<\/strong>, hosted by Lucie B\u00e9raud-Sudreau<\/strong><\/a> (IISS) with speakers including Jean-Pierre Maulny<\/strong><\/a> (IRIS) and Matthieu Damian<\/strong> <\/a>(GRIP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This panel was an opportunity to present the funding strategic research outside the academic circuit<\/strong>. Julien Malizard studied the Defence Economics Chair model<\/strong> its method of financing linked to the industrial sponsorship<\/a><\/strong> defence, its activities <\/strong>than a traditional research centre, and the desire to serve a wider public. a more general understanding of defence issues<\/strong> than the traditional readership of peer-reviewed journals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
