They suggest a lack of coordination between European countries in their aircraft procurement strategies: a country with sufficient industrial capacity will seek to maximise its national industrial advantages in its procurement choices, to the detriment of its European partners; conversely, a country with no industrial capacity will favour transatlantic suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the former USSR and the Warsaw Pact have withdrawn Soviet-origin aircraft from service at different rates depending on the market, with European suppliers benefiting more from this process than American suppliers.<\/p>\n<p>The study offers a comprehensive and nuanced perspective on the defence aeronautics industry in Europe, likely to enlighten political decision-makers and players in the sector.<\/p>\n<p>This article is linked to <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ecodef-ihedn.fr\/en\/choix-strategiques-en-matiere-dacquisition-dequipements-de-defense-publication-dun-article-de-josselin-droff-et-julien-malizard-dans-epsj\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">other work previously carried out by the Chair<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tandfonline.com\/doi\/abs\/10.1080\/10242694.2023.2271816\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span class=\"td_btn td_btn_md td_default_btn\">read the article<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\"><\/a><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Josselin Droff, Jade Guiberteau, Camille Laville, Julien Malizard et Laure No\u00ebl publient un article dans la revue Defence and Peace Economics Josselin Droff, Jade Guiberteau, Camille Laville, Julien Malizard et Laure No\u00ebl publient l&rsquo;article \u00ab The Political Economy of Military Aircraft, the Case of Europe \u00bb dans la revue Defence and Peace Economics.
