Papers should emphasize policy and can cover topics such as mental health; financing and costs of services or insurance; effect of manpower policy on injury; effect of injuries and mental health on employment; access to treatment before and after service; women's heath issues; physical requirements and base lining for entry and exit from service; health care policies and programs; health case studies focusing on a cohort; health outcomes for families. DPE recognises the diversity of research in the field and seeks to present a multi-faceted and international perspective.  As such, submissions from diverse disciplines: economics, sociology, health service research, policy, and clinical investigation are encouraged.<\/p>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Call for submissions 2:<\/strong> special issue, \u201c<strong>Military Women and the Force of the Future\u201d<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">With the rescinding of the U.S. Department of Defense \u00abDirect Ground Combat Definition and Assignment Rule,\u00bb and the implementation of the policy allowing women into combat arms in 2016, the next time the U.S. goes to war, women will be in the forefront of battle lines.\u00a0<em>Defence and Peace Economics<\/em>\u00a0(DPE) will devote a special issue, \u201c<strong>Military Women and the Force of the Future\u201d<\/strong>, exploring the implication of the directive on the demand and supply of military labor and possible substitution and complementarity within military occupational classifications in response to the directive. You are invited to submit a paper to DPE. Submitted papers should be original research on any topic pertaining to issues of military women and the force of the future. Papers should emphasise policy and address the implications on the life cycle of recruitment, compensation, retention, accommodation, attrition and separation. Papers can cover topics such as accession to ground combat; gender neutral standards; resiliency; sexual harassment; spousal and family issues; inclusion and equality; reproductive considerations to extend retention; leadership; recruitment and selection; employment gaps; women's heath issues; physical requirements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">DPE recognises the diversity of research in the field and seeks to present a multi-faceted and international perspective.  As such, submissions from diverse disciplines and nations are encouraged.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>All submitted papers will be initially screened and a decision made about those manuscripts that will be selected for peer review.  Authors will be required to adhere to a strict schedule for submission and revision of papers.  Papers that miss the deadlines will be rejected.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><em>Please submit all papers as a Word document to Dr. Jomana Amara\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jhamara@nps.edu\">jhamara@nps.edu<\/a>\u00a0<strong>by November 30, 2016<\/strong>. The anticipated publication date is 2017\/2018. However, if you have a manuscript ready to submit, please do so as early as possible.  Feel free to distribute the call for submissions.
