Organised on 22 March 2017 by our Chair in Defence Economics<\/a> and the Circle of Economists<\/a>, With 2 months to go before the presidential election, the aim of this seminar was to give the general public a clear understanding of the economic challenges facing the defence sector.<\/p>\n

Since the attacks in France, the French seem increasingly convinced of the need for defence and have a good image of the armed forces. Thus, 81% of French people want the defence budget to be maintained or increased, and 66% think that the current security situation calls for an additional budgetary effort<\/a>.<\/p>\n
