Study day at the École Militaire
To mark the centenary of the Armistice, the Chair in Defence Economics organises the 10 October 2018 a study day on the theme «Les morts de la Grande Guerre: Hasard ou déterminisme?.
Objectives:
The aim of this study day is to bring together researchers having worked during the period 2014-2018 on the analysis of the Great War dead in previously unexplored dimensions, These include cliometric, statistical, demographic, micro- and macro-econometric, strategic, operational research and geomatics analysis.
This study day has a threefold purpose :
1) restore original and innovative work ;
2) to bring this work together with a view to a publication in a history book in French to a wide audience, such is the passion with which many of our fellow citizens are drawn;
3) to target the day at the École Militaire, a public of journalists (written press, radio, TV) to ensure that our ideas get the most coverage. wide audience and visibility in the week leading up to the centenary of the Armistice of 11 November 1918.
