Chair in Defence Economics - IHEDN

The Chair has a Steering Committee, chaired by Guillaume Giscard d’Estaing, comprising representatives from the Ministry of the Armed Forces (Directorate-General for Armaments, Directorate-General for International Relations and Strategy, Secretary-General for Administration), the IHEDN and the Chair’s corporate sponsors (Airbus, Arquus, KNDS France, MBDA France, Naval Group and Thales). It sets the Chair's major objectives and validates its activities. It meets every two months.

The Chair's Scientific Advisory Board, chaired by Professor Sébastien Jean, comprises outside figures who are authorities in the field of research or likely to support the Chair's activities, as well as representatives of industrial sponsors, the IHEDN and the Endowment Fund. It is responsible for defining and evaluating the Chair's activities. It meets at least three times a year.
