The academic and operational worlds meet to discuss defence and conflict issues

In recent years, the defence industry has been faced with a number of challenges. upheaval in its strategic environment. La more theatres of operation in the Middle East and new missions military personnel on the national territory call for new thinking to understand the environment in which defence policy operates.

For public authorities and industry, this reflection concerns the model of conflict resolution, on prArms production and exports or on technological innovation.

  • The forum EcoD&C (Economics of Defence and Conflict) is an opportunity to highlight the subjects common to the academic and operational worlds in this new context
  • It is organised jointly by the’IRSEM and by the Applied Economics Unit of the’ENSTA ParisTech with the support of DGA

The approaches of researchers in economics and management will be combined with the analyses of industry professionals and operational staff to propose responses to the new challenges facing the world of defence. The fight against terrorism and conflicts over the control of natural resources will be at the heart of this forum. This conflict-focused approach will be complemented by an analysis of the defence industry and its current and future transformations.
