Jean Belin, holder of the Defence Economics Chair, publishes an article in Finance Bulletin, in collaboration with Mahdi Fawaz (University of Bordeaux) and Hélène Masson (Foundation for Strategic Research). The article is entitled: « Shareholder nationality among the major European and American defense contractors: an exploratory data analysis« .
- It presents the initial results of atatistical analysis of capital links large European and American defence companies.
- The sample consists of 29 European companies (major suppliers and pivotal DTIB companies in the main European producer countries: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom) and 34 American companies, listed and unlisted companies.
- This approach, which focuses on shareholders and subsidiaries of these companies questioning the depth of the national bond (company and country of origin) and the density of capital-intensive cooperation in Europe, as well as with the rest of the world, particularly the United States.
