Chair in Defence Economics - IHEDN

The Chair has a Steering Committee, chaired by Guillaume Giscard d'Estaing, which includes representatives from the Ministry of Defence (Directorate General of Armaments, Directorate General of International Relations and Strategy, Directorate of Financial Affairs), IHEDN and the Chair's industrial sponsors (Airbus, Arquus, KNDS France, MBDA Freance, Naval Group and Thales). It sets the Chair's major objectives and validates its activities. It meets every two months.

The Chair's Scientific Advisory Board, chaired by Professor Sébastien Jean, comprises outside figures who are authorities in the field of research or likely to support the Chair's activities, as well as representatives of industrial sponsors, the IHEDN and the Endowment Fund. It is responsible for defining and evaluating the Chair's activities. It meets at least three times a year.
