Air Force Awards 2017

Every year, the French Air Force rewards the best «Air and Space» dissertations as part of the Clément Ader and René Mouchotte awards. These prizes were created by decree of the Minister of Defence on 15 March 2004 in order to: «encourage, stimulate and promote studies or research work related to the concerns of the air force. This work, relating in particular to questions of strategy, history, use of forces, human resources, equipment or air law, may be conducted in particular in university circles, research institutes or within the Ministry of Defence».

This prize is subdivided into two endowed awards: the «Clément Ader» prize, awarded to a doctoral thesis or equivalent work (€5,000), and the «René Mouchotte» prize, awarded to one or two master's theses or equivalent (€2,000 per award). The criteria for awarding the prize are the interest of the dissertation or thesis, its originality and its relevance to the concerns of the Air Force. The jury is chaired by the Chief of Staff of the French Air Force, who personally presents the awards to the winning students.

The 2017 «Armée de l'Air» awards will recognise work carried out and supported in 2016. For this reason, all students wishing to apply are invited to send their application before 31 December 2016 to the following address:
