Jean Belin, holder of the Chair in Defence Economics and Christian de Boissieu, Chairman of the Chair's Scientific Advisory Board, have published an article in Les Echos entitled: « A new era for innovation in defence« .
Florence Parly, Minister for the Armed Forceshas reiterated on several occasions that the defence sector is in a state of flux, adapting to the times and its environment.
A series of reforms has been launched, particularly in research and innovation. The fund Definvest and the’Defence Innovation Agency (DIA) have been created. The Ministry and companies are intensifying their links with universities, the CNRS, SMEs and the start-up. Companies are developing’open innovation and are opening up more to the civilian sector.
To understand these adaptations and the directions they should take, we need to analyse the repositioning the defence sector which is taking place within the framework of the national innovation system.
