Captain Thomas Gauvin« award, founded in 2016
L’Association of Combat Writers will award an annual prize dedicated to recent or current military operations of France symbolised by a Diploma from the Écrivains combattants with thousand Euros by the company MBDA France.
The prize will be awarded to the author who is still serving in the French armed forces, a published work, study or dissertation, a French-language publication devoted to conditions for the military engagement of french forces. This book should reflect the author's thoughts on the issues involved in these operations.
Terms and conditions
The candidates are invited to make contact with the secretariat of the Écrivains Combattants before the end of July.
The works collected are forwarded to the Awards Committee for review.
The Awards Committee examines the candidates' works from September onwards, obtains the opinion of the Armed Forces Chief of Staff and, in October, makes a proposal to the Board of Directors to award the prize to a candidate.
La award decision is endorsed by the President of Les Écrivains combattants at a formal meeting of the Board of Directors.
La award ceremony is carried out at the afternoon of the book organised jointly by the’Association of Combat Writers and the Ministry of Defence at the end of the year.
