The aim of the Chair is to set up, develop and run a network of researchers in defence economics, both nationally and internationally. The Chair is also intended to act as an interface between research in defence economics and research in other fields of economics, as well as between the academic and professional worlds.
THE OBJECTIVES OF THE CHAIR IN DEFENCE ECONOMICS
The Chair in Defence Economics - IHEDN (Institut des hautes études de défense nationale) is the result of a joint «State-Industry» initiative to support academic research in defence economics, with the aim of shedding as much light as possible on the economic impact of political decisions in the field of defence.
It also aims to attract talented young researchers to the Defence Economics field.
Its objectives are to federate and disseminate defence economics thinking and to produce benchmark academic research.

The Chair aims to produce academic articles on defence economics based on the publications of its permanent and associate researchers, and to stimulate research by organising working groups with researchers from the network. The Chair's work is disseminated in the form of articles, conferences, presentations at training courses, etc.
