The economic impact of defence

International events are leading to a general increase in defence investment, particularly in Europe.
The academic work carried out by the Chair since it was set up in 2014 sheds precise light on the effects of defence spending on the defence industrial and technological base (DITB) and on the economy as a whole.
The Chair's researchers presented a summary of the results obtained in the literature and provided keys to understanding the mechanisms at work. Their analysis covered both short-term and long-term effects, at national and regional level.
