Julien Malizard publishes a chapter in the 2020 Yearbook of Security and Defence Law

Julien Malizard, Deputy Chair, publishes a chapter in l’2020 Directory of Security and Defence Law, published this month by Mare et Martin.

Annuaire 2020 du droit de la sécurité et de la défense

The chapter is entitled «Economic methods applied to defence research: the example of economic impact». It discusses the theoretical and empirical issues in defence economics and illustrates this with an analysis of the issues involved.‘he economic impact of defence.

This publication is a follow-up to a conference in September 2019 by the Association française de droit de la sécurité et de la défense, as part of a panel on methodological issues in the social sciences.

About the book

Coordinated by Delphine Deschaux-Dutard and Jean-Christophe Videlin, The book focuses on a wide range of controversial issues (police violence, external operations, defence economics, cybersecurity, drones and artificial intelligence), addressed by leading specialists in the field. The aim of this multidisciplinary work is to provide solid answers to the many questions that have shaped defence and security law in 2019.
