Now more than ever, technology is a key factor in competition between powers. It is on this theme that the issue 70 of Les Grands Dossiers de Diplomatie is dedicated.

Josselin Droff, a researcher at the Chair, has published an article in this special issue entitled: «Industry 4.0, a new way of designing and producing».

The combination of certain technologies is at the origin of major process changes industrial production and business models which are now united around a single concept: industry 4.0.

This article sets out to define and question this concept. The many potential offered by Industry 4.0 technologies are discussed, as well as their potential limits. Industry's transition to Industry 4.0 is not just a question of technical and economic, but it's also a challenge organisational, societal and political.
