Jean Belin reappointed to CGARM

Jean Belin, holder of the Chair in Defence Economics - IHEDN, has been reappointed for a further 3 years as a full member of the Board. CGARM - General Armaments Council as a qualified person (Order of the Minister for the Armed Forces dated 3 March 2020).

CGARM :
Created in 1988 by André Giraud, then Minister of Defence, the missions and organisation of the Conseil Général de l'Armement (CGARM) were redefined in 1999. Decree 99-937 of 4 November 1999 set up a Conseil Général de l'Armement (General Armaments Council), reporting to the Minister of Defence, with responsibility for issuing opinions on armaments-related issues. It broadens the Council's remit and creates a permanent structure under the authority of a Vice-President. The organisation, operation and membership of the Council are defined by ministerial decree. Full members are appointed by the Minister for the Armed Forces for a renewable term of 3 years.
