After more than ten years at the head of the chair, Jean Belin hands over to Julien Malizard, who until now has been deputy chairman.
Since its creation in January 2014, the Defence Economics Chair at’Institut des hautes études de défense nationale IHEDN has never stopped produce benchmark academic research, This has resulted in numerous publications (books, articles, analyses, etc.) of recognised quality by public and private decision-makers, as well as the scientific community.
It is for this reason that the Chair - which in 2023 was one of the founding members of’École Militaire Defence Academy - is now invited to take part in major international events dedicated to research on defence and security issues.
This expertise also enabled the organisation of numerous large-scale events (conferences, webinars, etc.) which have helped to disseminate defence economics thinking to an ever-growing audience.
L’uninterrupted investment by the research team has made the chair a key player in the French and European strategic landscape.
All the members and partners of the Chair would like to extend their warmest thanks to Jean Belin for all this and wish him all the best for the future.
Le project led by Julien Malizard and Josselin Droff will enable the chair to pursue and expand its actions in terms of disseminating academic thinking, in order to promote the defence economy ever more widely.
